What width rims for my 33x1250x15 BFGAT\'s?

Im still undecided, Should I get 10" or 8" rims for my rig? I don't go in mud but I do go in snow and ice (I live in the Rockies). I do drive on the beach once a year. Will the 8" rims cause the tread to be high in the middle and cause bad handling/wear? Conversely, will 10" rims cause poor traction in snow ice situations? I drive a 1990 sub and am planning 2-4" lift. Thanks.

I personally don't think you would notice much difference. Desert guys run 8 inchers. Maybe someone will have some personal experience. I'm goin' with 8" for my 33's.

I had 10" then 8" then 10" rims on my 33x12.50x15 BFGMTs. I noticed an increase in tread wear within a month when I went to the 8" rims. I also thought it looked funny, but that may be because I was used to the look of the 10" rims. When I went back to the 10" rims the tread evened out for me again.(after a number of miles)

Go for the 10's. They look perfect with 33x12.50's. AND if you ever go to a wider tire, then you can use the same rims. I had 15x10's with 36x14.50's and that combo looked good too.

Go with the 10" rims. I have 15 x 10 Eagle Alloys on my 33x12.50 BFG and they run well. I have a 15 x 8 (only spare rim I had) on the same size spare and the profile of the tire is taller. It seems to be more in the middle and the sidewalls roll more. If you have to air down the tires for floatation on the sand or for rock crawling, you'll appreciate the wider rim. My nickel.

I would opt for the 10" rims, they look better and like sone one said before, your tires will wear better on 10" ers.

8 inchers will cause your tires to wear poorly on the road. 10's would be better because you can upgrade to wider tires for muddin' or whatever.

I have the same tires as you and AE 589 15x10 wheels and they look and work great.

I run 10" Centerlines with those exact tires. NO issues, plussssssssssss..........if you want bigger tires later on in life, you don't have to change wheels!

10" here under my 33s. better when airing down for the sand dunes than my previous 8" steel wheels.

8" rims give you better bead retension for runnign low air pressures, but you may experience adverse tire wear in the middle of the tread. With 10" you shouldn't air down as low because the tire puts less pressure in the bead area, but you also won't need to because the tire will have a wider foot print.
