What would it take to clear 44's?

You can run 4" of lift with 40" rubber without hitting the top of the wheelwells... if you don't invert the springs.

So, knowing that, you can adjust your tire size accordingly. But, this only holds true if you don't hit the cab. 4" of lift with 40" rubber will almost rub the cab if you have no wheelhouses.

I've pushed the rear of my inner fender up against the firewall and fastened it there. Also, my front axle is moved 1.5" forward and will be moved another .5" forward when the spring swap is done. I'll have an extra set of zero-rates sitting around then so I'll be able to push it another 1.5" forward for a total of 3.5" from stock. If it doesn't clear then, the inners are gonna hafta go.

i forget who, but remember some one pushing back the iners and the beating the cab with a hammer to clear some more.lol

so you have options :haha:

hahah your welcome k5freak44... the reason i brought it up is because im trying to redo my suspension on my 73 k5... i have 12" superlift with the bottom 2 or 3 leaves taken out and i now have 9" of lift ..i wanna still run my 44" boggers but i need alot more flex ... here is the setup i am thinking of running but need help and constructive ideas since i went to junkyard for last month every weekend and cant find the stuff i wanted so...

front- 2" lift TC 52" leaves and move front hanger up 4" and move the rear shackle up a set of rivet holes and run 7.25" eye to eye shackles also use a 1" zero rate and move the front axle forward either 1" or 1.5" for a total lift of 7" i think

rear-4"ord shackle flip which i already have and run 4" TC lift 56" rear springs and run a 7.25" eye to eye shackle and i dont know what else to do to the rear ..i need some help to finish up teh rear ideas and i dont know how much lift i will get with that here is a pic of how my k5 sits right now

My front axle has moved 7.5" relative to the fender. Plenty of room for 40s. The fender looks a lot different now but you get the idea.

i have 42's on about 6.25 inches of lift.
rear is springer suspension, front is 4 inch springs ord zero rates pushing the axle fwd 1.5 inches and a 2 inch longer shackle. i also have some thicker shims up front that give me a tiny bit of lift.

fenders are HACKED front and rear as you can see. no, its NOT running yet, nor will it be any time soon. i used a fork to flex it out a bit but didnt have a camear. the front tires rub on the fire wall a bit, but i will fix that when i put some 52 or 56 inch springs up front. i am going full hydro on steering.

id suggest some bumpstops up front to keep the tires from getting to far into the fender wells. other than that sounds like it should work well. u gonna run crossover?

i already have x over steering and im not to worried about my tires hitting my fenderwells cause i am gonna tub them basically up to the top of the fender and also tub the rear .. also how does that suspension setup sound? i am basically trying to build a awsome all leaf spring top truck, somthing that can do about anything including handling decent at higher speeds like out in the desert cruising around but must flex
