Contacted him and he said it is literally just the shell and axles/wheels (if I understood correctly), he stripped everything else for another project.

So how much would you offer? I asked if he'd trade for a firearm, but no interest there. I've been searching for a decent full convertible K5 for a while, but everyone wants too much, it's all chopped up or modified or its in bad shape. I'm searching for a relatively bone stock truck and this looks like it might fit the bill.

Yeah it looks as stripped as can be, which isnt a bad thing if you're going to make changes or restore it. id say that truck is worth $1000 max. I got my truck, which ran rough and had a few issues but It was all there for a thousand bucks, so if you could score itmfor less than a grand then youre doing pretty good.
 
Well, decent tires its worth at least $500 plus scrap price. $750?
I have boight complete K5s for $1200 with good tires

Scrap is down really really bad. Id be shocked if theres $300 in scrap there.


Honestly if I wanted a 73 full vert Id probably be willing to pay towards $3000 for that. But rust free is a huge attraction here and not so much there.

Hey I was being generous! But true, rust free or lightly rusted is way more common in these parts.
 
That's an easy $4000 truck around here. And it wouldn't last long at that price either.

Being that you're in the land of rust free vehicles, it's probably not that rare so I'd toss out a $750 offer and see how he responds. But I'd be willing to spend a decent bit more. I've missed out on a few full convertibles that sold way too fast for stupid money before I could even go look at them.
 
So I offered $750. Here was his reply:

"Lol the doors and top alone go for way more then that."

How would you respond? I had to stop myself from writing a mean message back. I hate it when people think their trucks are gold plated and worth $1000s more than they really are...

I see no mention of a reg or title ?

maybe offer deal with out wheels and tires .

Yeah that response makes me mad too because its a straight up lie. Around here $100 will get you both doors and tops are maybe in the area of $200.

I play hardball with these unrealistic turds.

I usually will tell them my offer followed by "see you in a week".

9 times out of 10 they come crawling back asking if im still interested. :haha::waytogo:

I think its worthwhile to ask him what he thinks its worth...then from there, ask him how many offers hes had on it. This should make it apparent to him that hes going to be sitting on it for a while if hes had no offer or doesnt know what he wants for it.

At the very least if he states he wants 3 grand for it you can walk away without any doubt that the guy is out of his mind.
 
Definetly ask him what he wants for it. You may not be too far out of his price range. But on the other hand he may be darn crazy.
 
OK shot him a message just asking what price he was thinking for the truck. We'll see if he responds.

Hahaha Good luck with that chief! He wont get anything over $1500 for that bare truck. Someones lost touch with reality.

Ive been getting in the habit of offering people way more than what theyre asking if its too much.

For example i would offer 10 grand lol. Makes them nuts!

Oh well there will be more! I would totally watch for his ads in the next few weeks. He may come down of his high and realize its a $1000 roller.
 
While, since that last guy is cookoo, I guess I'll see if this one stays on CL long enough for me to save some more money. It's been on CL for two weeks already.

Although, if anyone is interested in the half top he says he has you could send the money for the top and I could go buy the whole truck and find a way to get the top to someone.
 
Seems more legit as long as the tops are good
