what years were the 14 bolt sf 6 lug axles on, i am going to start calling junk yards tomorrow and need to know, its going on a 93 chevy 4x4 1/2 ton. and will i need a conversion u joint for this, and will spring perches line up? thanks, chris
they only came in the IFS rigs so the perches will line up. I am pretty certain 88-98 chevy's had them. Like noted some Z71 1/2 tons, some simply heavy duty 1500s(no idea what makes them so special, guess trailer package), and 2500 Light Duty rigs have the rears. My dad had 2 2500 LD rigs. an 89 and a 95 both had 6 lug 14 bolt semi floaters.
I meant the 6 lug Semi floaters /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif My 89 3/4 ton burb has a 8 lug semi floater 14 bolt. As does my 97 3/4 ton pickup. As did my 95 K2500 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

The sf14b that came in my 90 suburban came with 3.42 gears.

same for my 89. but both of my dad's 6 lug ones were 3.73. My 97 is 3.73 and my 95 was 4.10. See in the 90s you could actually pick your gear ratio and it made a difference, nowadays if you want to buy a new rig with 3.73 gears they look at you like you are psycho and tell you it will cost you a couple grand more cause you have to special order it /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
yeah but its cheaper if you take the truck already sitting on their lot and go out to a chevy dealer. You will find like 75% 4.10 gears at the least I bet.
