Been toying with the idea of a 1970 K10 that's for sale locally and am wondering what it would take to run the 37's I have on my 1973...

Few inch lift? Or do the contoured fenders require substantially more trimming than the square body ones do?

At least 4 inches I would think. Those 1st gen body styles make it easier to fit larger tires

A k10 is about the same fender style as my 70 jimmy. I run 37" krawlers. I trimmed about 2 and 1/2 inches around the fenders all four, de fanged both front and rear fenders. Front of front fenders and rear of rear fenders I tapered further back. I also have about 7 inches of lift and tubbed the rear fenders. I did this so no matter how hard I flex it the tires wont hit anywhere.

If you are just using it for street and mild wheeling I would say 6 inch lift then maybe cut the front tang off and you would be good.

there are pics all over of my rig on CK5 and if you search fender trimming you should find some good info.

More then 4"
Here is 4" and a 35" bfg mt. Got some room in the back but the front rubs going up and down driveways. 3.5" bs on a 10" wide wheel. 4.5" wheels only rubbed on the trail and not the street.

not the same angle so stock one doesnt look the same.. but look at the gap between the tire and fender....

lip?

Not exactly sure what your talking about RB, but here are a couple of pictures. I guess the "fang" curls under towards the frame which could be removed, without changing the look to much.
