I bet I could pull it here in cali with enough time because no one else around has one like it. There are NO 3/4 or 1 ton K5's around here and hardly have any kind of a built motor/tranny/t-case. I bet 8.5k though. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Update:
The reason why I was considering selling it is because I have had a lot of problems lately keeping it going for daily use, it has been my only daily driver since I got my license. What pisses me off the most is I have had some problems with stuff I have already replaced with brand new parts to PREVENT an inconvient break down. I am not about to have a daily vehicle that I have to wrench on every other day and miss out on where I was going because I can't get there and more importantly when I am working and need to get somewhere ASAP. I think I have it in pretty good shape at the momment though. I am going to buy another vehicle for DD use (90% shure it will be an 89-91' K5) and will keep my '85 for a Friday and Saturday night toy.
Thanks guys for the help, I was really considering selling it but the cunsensus is I would have a hardtime getting 10K and I can't afford to let it go for any less than that so I think the best decision is to put on the back burner and just play around with it.

I have been looking at newer blazers for the last few days...looks like most of the 89'-91's are going for around $4500-6500 depending on miles and such, ones that are in great shape of course.

My tags are up at the end of August so I have a little under 2 months to either figure out how to get new tags for the '85 and/or get a new blazer bought.

if you love it that much barrow a motor for a week off a friend and get it to pass, the wrk involved will be worth it. My dad has a fresh 305 just for this reason, it will be getting used in 3 trucks...cuase all mine have or will have big blocks /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Well lets see, I have already thought of that and know where I can get a complete 350 out of an '86 blazer for a couple hundred bucks but more importantly Its the work involved to switch motors and all. When projects with a simple goal as to just switching motors takes place....a bunch of things break and/or don't fit, work, or go on right. Or at least thats been my luck, got the K5 totally fixed yesterday, noticed the PS pump belt a little loose, tightened it and now I have a leak from the back of the pump and that little 3/8" bolt in the back is tight and I can't figure out where it's coming from. That has been my life story with my blazer, try and do something and something else happens on the way.

Besides, I am way to busy to swap motors, I just don't have the free time like I used too. Anyone in my area want to make a few bucks? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You could come up here and pretend that Your renting a room from Me (say $500 a month /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) then get a P.O. Box and register it up here. Problem solved I smoged My Blazer back in 1990 when I first bought it and haven't had to do it since. Most of the countys up here only require a smog check when you first purchase a vehicle and thats it /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif My pickup was last smoged in 2000 when I bought it as well /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I laugh at all of You Guy's down south and Your annual smog checks.

Yes, in Ca. this can be done. Not every county in Ca. does bi-annual smog checks.
