Whats the best/ fastest way to chop up a vehicle

What the heck, might as well veer completely off topic...........

I agree, nice motor, but what the heck is that brass thingy next to the dip stick? It looks just like a two o"ring quick disconnect hydraulic fitting.......

Since he went EFI its either a temp sender or thermal switch for his fans.

I figured that was what it had to be, but I swear from that picture it looks just like a fitting that a hydraulic hose would snap on..

:sign28:

He's right, it was a temp sender for the autometer guage. The thermal switch for the fans was on the other head. If it makes you feel better, it's not on there anymore, it looks like this now...(it's plugged, the gauge temp and EFI temp senders are both in the intake now, and the EFI also controls the fans)....if you want to see the internals you can see it in post 26 of my build thread linked in my sig.

OK, hijack off now!

What valve covers are those? I like them :D

Stock Chevy cast aluminum "7.4L" valve covers. I have been wanting to sandlbast them so they match the heads and intake, but I haven't been back to my friends blaster to do it yet.

I've always cut them up with a sawzall.

First remove the doors, fenders, hood, top and windshield.

Second Cut the legs at the top of the windshield frame and the b pillar at the bed sides-- Remove top.

Third, Cut straight across the tub from the base of each b pillar, then cut the bed area in half.

Fourth, Cut the firewall straight in half down though the floor and trans tunnel.

And tada, you have a quartered blazer. These pieces are all small enough for one guy to manage them onto a trailer, or into the bed of a rig without to much trouble.

I've used this method on 3 ford pick ups, a bronco, a blazer, 6 chevy pickups, two dodge pickups, a datsun pickup, and a caddy :thumb:

Well I'll take pictures tonight but honestly how rusted this thing is I may beable to just use my hands!!!

Back on topic I say this, I know I know might be a little hard to get a hold of but come on this is the easiest way

I have done it with a torch (In upstate NY, the rust made nice popping sounds), but be careful because i also set myself on fire cutting on grass...

Torch that mofo!

On a related, yet seperate, note...

I watched my 'immigrant' neighbors COMPLETELY tear down a VW bug, and fit it into a panel truck.... in less than an hour!!!!

It was impressive.
(Threadjack over.)

This thread should have been called "Whats the best/ fastest way to chop up a body"
