don't misinterpret my defense of "torque multiplication" as an endorsement of automatics or a statement that what everyone says about doubling your crawl ratio due to a converter as being correct. I think its bull, but not totally bullshit. multiplying by 2 is just stupid.

2 principles, hydraulics and friction. heat is a by product of friction.
The automatic transmission works on 3 principals, hydraulics, friction, and HEAT. Heat is always wasted energy and the more spinning the more wasted energy but if there is a notable variance in torque at the wheels by even 1% you guys are completely wrong and should stop arguing about it.

I missed the post where the stators task was dispelled as myth.
I do not believe it is a lossless conversion nor do I believe the x2 numbers as they are being utilized here.
