For a mild 350 TBI. I have heard 12-13.5 for best I think, ? Is this right? I have 15 after starting it the first time.

Motor is stock with TBI spacer, pod spaced, top of TBI milled down for flow, and salad bowl. Plus a stock exhaust, minus CAT and with a 3" welded chambered muffler, no tail past axle.

Do I have to get a tuned chip? I'd like to anyway....

stock is about 8 to 9, if your lucky.....

12 to 14 is good for any rig.... 15 is a bit excessive but should be ok.. I run 14 or so...

I was hoping 15 would be ok for a day or 2 till I get or modify an allen wrench that will adjust it..... didn't get the thumb wheel one:doah: I figure I'll go with 13-13.5 then. I had thought I read that 12ish was what stock wanted.... wasn't sure though..... answered my question perfectly:thumb:

12 is fine for stock.. performs about as good as it can with a stock mill... but don't sweat it if your at 13, 13.5...

Actually, I think the general, across the board, agreement on fuel pressure is that its better to have some than not...............:D

I do believe you would be correct :haha:

What gauge are you using? The stock pump is only capable of achieving 15-16psi deadhead pressure so there "shouldn't" be any way of getting 15psi running. Also the spring wouldn't allow that pressure either.

To answer your question though, stock is "supposed" to be 12psi but it has been reported to be anywhere from 9-13psi but the engine in stock form likes close to 12psi.

i haven't seen a stock pump/reg putting out double digits yet..

That because they're bad by the time you're checking the pressure on the stock pump? :D

Every TBI pump I have replaced so far has been at about the 13psi range. I replaced one in my Burb once because it was around 9 and just wasn't running right under throttle.

why would people be doing AFR's than if the stock setup put's out 13? you bump to 13 and you see a noticeable difference in performance over stock.. any dif between 13 and 14 is pretty negligible...

I cant remember what pump I put in last year but it was just a stock replacement.

most I've seen have been running around 10... I've never seen a stock pump put out 11 and that's just as much a function of the stock regulator, as it is the pump...

like Scott mentioned, technically, the stock pumps are supposed to put out upwards of 15 psi... why don't you see 14? the regulator......

The stock pumps I have seen, will barely do 15 dead headed.

I am using a vortec pump, and when I rebuilt my regulator I used the spring that came in the rebuild kit (napa). I dont know the max it will adjust to, but it is well over 20psi.

Actually, like i said the stock pump will only deadhead at 15-16psi. Most regulators are set around 9psi and then there is the exception of the ones that actually put out 12-13psi (mine was one of the exceptions at 12.5psi factory). My set-up now consists of a 454 TBI unit running 102 lb/hr injectors at 18psi with a higher pressure spring and the stock regulator which I made adjustable.
