Other than the multi-colored rotors, knuckles and axles (I used whatever paint was available at the time) :doah: But, today I finally got around to putting my hubs/rotors on, then decided I would mount up my new calipers. Well I traded in my cores about a month ago for these remans and now I'm not sure if Ive got somthing screwed up during assembly or if I've got the wrong calipers.

Oh yeah and I'm such an idiot that I seem to have misplaced my caliper retainers, screws and shims, If I ever clean this place up I might find something :doah:

Looks to me like the hub/rotor assembly is not all the way on. Also, The inner axle appears to be sticking out of the housing too far (their usually close enough you can't see much, if any, of the stick).

Edit: what is the order of parts - knuckle/spindle/caliper bracket or knuckle/caliper bracket/spindle? The wrong order can cause all of the above.

I agree.... Did you possibly get the wrong rotors? Or are you trying to use Ford rotors/hubs with GM calipers/brackets?

Your rotor to caliper bracket distance should be similar to the one in the photo(nevermind the DRW hubs):

I don't know about a D60 , but on my 1/2 tons , I made a simmilar mistake .

Should be spindle , bracket/shield , hub/rotor , locking hub .

Ding Ding Ding, I believe we have a winner............and I'm an idiot :eek1:

The order that I have is knuckle/ caliper bracket/ spindle.... I bet it is supposed to be Knucke/ Spindle/ Caliper bracket, right?

What did I win? :D

Ever feel like the dumbest person in the room? Well, today was my turn. Swapped the order on the caliper bracket and spindle on both sides and everything appears to have fallen into place!! :D If you guys were hear, I'd buy you a drink or two

Wow I don't feel so bad about the colors on my D60 after seeing that one

Its no big deal, I'am sure everyone on this site has made a mistake like this at one time or another, looks like you did a nice job cleaning and painting it all. Did mine the same way with the paint and all, looked good untill the first Mudd pit :eek1:

NEWBEE ALERT!! NEWBEE ALERT!!

Its ok I did the same thing :haha: took a few minutes looking at it and figured it out.

I mess that up all the time. It comes from tearing down and rebuilding a Ford 60 and a Chevy 60 at the same time. That will mess with your head.

Caliper mounts are mounted backwards. Flip them over.

Bigcountry, your axle is nice and colorful :haha:
glad u got it all straightened out

laugh all you want, I just didn't want it to be a rust pile BEFORE I even install it on my rig. Once it's on there, who cares :D
