well, im gonna lower my truck so i can get some drivelines built. right now it's on some bald ass 44's, and it's just too big. and it rides like hell. im actually gonna lower it about 3 inches in the front, and 4 out back.

now, my question is... should i run some 40 TSL's or LTB's, or should i run some 42 TSL's??? i have a line on a set of 42's for 600bucks on wheels, only problem is they're on 15's.

i swore i would never run 15's on a D60 again b/c of the royal PITA it was to grind the calipers, but i also said i'd never replace kingpins again either, and i just did that. haha

well, what say you...should i go for the gold, quit bitchin, and run the 42's??? or should i hold out for some 40's???

here's how she sits now on the bald ass 44's.

holy crap that thing is tall! if it where me,i´d run TC 6" EZ-ride springs and cut/trim it to fit 42"s,I don´t know what springs you currently have, but say you go from 12 inchers to 8 inchers,it will still be pretty harsh, anything over 6" spring lift will be a rough ride.

i actually ran 8 in bds springs on my old truck, and i was very very pleased with them. rode pretty good, and had a decent amount of flex also...nothing extremem, but down here in flat FL. they were great.

right now i have 12in superlift, and it's basically like there is no suspension at all..that bad. i am going to be replacing them with the 8's plus a zero rate(to move the front end forward an inch) im not afraid to trim/cut/hack this truck up since the body isn't exactly perfect. my old truck was immaculate, so that's why i ran the 40's. didin't wanna tear up the fenders.

sounds like you have a good plan there,I´ve heard good things about the bds springs, probably the softest 8" around.chop away :hack:

If you're not against trimming I'd go with 42's, should have a nice stance when you're done.

Going from 8" to 4" was night and day, then going from 4" to 52's was night and day.

I know Florida is flat but it sure is nice having a smooth ride out in a field vs hitting your head on the roof

My truck is smooth across a rutted up field at about 25

I have both on a 6" lift, If im flexing it out, the 39.5's go on, if im muddin, the 42's go on. I had to trim the fenders pretty good and I removed the inner fender wells...

howdiy, you live in bradenton right??? i saw your thread on pirate man...i'd been meaning to PM you. we need to hook up buddy, i wouldn't mind checking out your truck. i work in sarasota, and live in palmetto.

why not do some lifted 52s up front like howdiy was sayin. that way you get a nicer ride.

also how wide are those 42s your looking at? that matters to

they are 42x15x15. they guy has 5 of them....1 brand new never been on road. 2 of them are 60percent tread. and 2 of them are 10-20percent tread. they are on 15x10 8 lug wheels. he's asking 650 for em, but i was gonna offer him 500 and see what he says.

this ^^

I used 2.5" lift 52's on the front and ended up with ~6" of lift. These plus some trimming and a 1" body lift and my 43's fit nicely.

i gotta tell you, i've been on here for years, and never really looked into the 52's.... i geuss i always felt like it was more for playin on the rocks than anything else.....

anywhere particular to look for info on such a subject...or should i just use that good ole search feature....

haha....

thanks guys
keep the info comin!

how is rebuildin kpins and grindin calipers down a pita:dunno:

go wit 8" springs and 40" ltb's. it wont look like too tall jones.. (yer rig)

and yes im suggesting that setup cuz thats what i am runnin;)

and ltb's are ****in baddasssss. word.

Mines a little taller than some would like, i have 7 inch lift 53 inch alcans with 6inch shackles, axle moved up 1.5inches up front and 2.5 inch 52s with a diy4x shackle flip, zero rate and 6inch shackles....8 inches total of suspention, also have a 2 inch body.....right at 10 inches with 39.5 x15x15s. Not into cutting the body, it flexes real nice and with cutout fender flares it doesnt rub. Has a decent stance with 10 inch wheels
