I have the dakota digital gauges and a derale 51606 trans cooler mounted up front, I used a 454 square body radiator which the trans lines pass trough first then to the trans cooler and back to the transmission. I probably put around 150 miles since the swap and never saw trans temp go past 170.

Ah hah, that's how you get by smog in Kommieforina. Am a recent escapee of that state, retired and bailed. Good deal on the cooler am a fan of Derale products. If it will clear your front drive shaft, (with a np208 it should) the Derale cool pan is good for @15-20° highway speeds.

Yes, 96 and older diesels are exempt from emissions testing in CA not to many people are aware. I love California but hate the cost of living, its politics, traffic, and how dirty it has gotten especially in LA. I hadn't realize they made an aftermarket deeper pan, the engine & trans donor was a 2006 Hummer H2 which to my understanding the 4l65's have a deeper pan for that application.

I hear ya I loved the weather, the entertainment, when it was almost affordable pandemic. Born and raised there, but the politics, traffic and taxes, drove me out. Commuted from Pomona to various parts of Los Angles, mostly down town, and west side, for 32+ years. I Lake Havasu now if you're a river rat hit me up when you come out.

Nice work btw I can see the attention to detail. If you find the 4l65e and the 700r4 use the same pan (Idk) I have a used 700r4 Derale pan doesn't clear my drive shaft. I'd let it go for 1/2 price.

I live in the city of Downey, and commute to Irvine daily but there are times when I need to go to DTLA for a job walk and its just a shit show.
If I do find myself in Havasu I will keep the invite in mind.

I will let you know about the pan, I still have to give the blazer a good shake down and I am sure I will have to address more items.
