i was wondering if this would be a wise purchase with the coming work on the 69 c10?

I’m going to have the truck with the front facing the garage door. I plan on removing the bed to clean up underneath, then turning around to install the engine/ tranny etc

These looks like a convienant way of moving the truck around as 99% of the work will be me alone..

Those look exactly like the HF ones, except painted red instead of grey.

I have a set, they work OK.... you can probably get them cheaper at HF.

My biggest issue was that the garage floor is slightly sloped to the doors, so when the skates are under the tires the truck always wants to roll out the door.

Just throw a piece of chain on the floor in front of one or two of them. Just a 16" piece of dog chain even. Slightly bigger is a little better. But it works perfect.

I use them for all kinds of things. Right now my spare axles are sitting on them for easy manuverability.
Good to have around.:waytogo:

Oh, and the HF ones are what I have too.

Huh. :dunno:.

I have a super rough potash pocked floor. We pushed my kids 72 K5 around from one side to the other 3 or 4 times with no issues.

Same ones.

One HF link is for a set that will support 4000Lb total (1000ea), and the other design holds up to 6000Lb (1500 ea)

I'm sure the closer you get to those limits the tougher they are to move around easily and the more likely you are to see failures.

It will be mainly moving it around with the drive train out.
Once I’m ready to install the engine/tranny I’ll move it.

Since I’m putting it in the garage engine towards the door. I’ll need to move to get the bed off then back on...

Either way not sure what stock 69 c10 weighs minus the engine and tranny but the 1500lbs version might be best.

I have had a number of the cheap like you originally posted. Ok if there are zero cracks to go over. The transition from driveway to the garage will suck.

I will recommend the HF jack up wheel dollies. I move the 7000 po8nd Jimmy by myself. Rotate it within it length. The bigger wheels work better.

I have some like the pic. I had an '82 longbed K10 on them. I have a level, epoxy coated floor and still found it very difficult to get them to roll. The worst was a direction change, the swivel casters are just too small to turn and roll easily. Once all the casters were pointed the right way it was better but still a real tough push. After the motor and trans/tcase were out it was a little easier but not much. I still use them to move axles around. I thought they would be great to move the truck side to side working in a small garage but I was pretty disappointed when I started using them.

Damn... well. I may just try the HB 1500lbs version. The ones with the floor jack in them are just too expensive.

I will mainly use them without the drive train out, the front fenders, core support, outer fenders and hood will be off the vehicle when using these
