17" for sure, I would rather have an "expensive" option than "no" option.
A better selection for the 40" plus sizes and we are talking alum here, no amount of grinding will be enough to run 15" alum wheels.
And running a 42" tire you will have a little less sidewall flex for stability, yes tire flex is good but to a point.
