Well, I haven't been wheeling in about three years and I thinks its about time to get back on the trails. The only problem is, none of my friends have 4x4's, or even trucks for that matter :screwy:. Anyone want to go on a run with me? I was thinking it would be cool to have a meet.

I'd definatly go!!! But where the hell is there to wheel around here? The only place I can find is on base, and that's illegall.

I went out off the ortega highway last time, it was a pretty fun run, But I would like to try somewhere new. If anyone knows of any place let me know

How was the trail on Ortega?
I could make it there. Could be fun. I'm only out here for another month so if we're gonna do this, let's do it soon!

Alright, Wildomar it is. Do you have any supplies (shovels, jacks, straps etc.)? Are you getting deployed or something. Let me know when you could go and I'll let you know when I can go.

Yea, I have all the supplies I would need. Shovel, HiLift, Warn Winch, etc.

I work on the weekends, nut get off around noon, but it wouldn't really break my heart to have to call in sick or somethin. I'm pretty open. That is, if I can get my front driveshaft together and on this week...

Get on the Ortega and head East.
Once you pass the crappy resturant on the top start looking for Killen(sp) road.
Go Right (south) on Killen road. Killen is also 7S06. Take Killen rd until you get to Wildomar OHV.

Not sure how many miles it is along Killen Rd., maybey 5-7 ???

I can get you the Lat/Long to the trailhead if you would like.

That would be great if could have the lat/long. MGRS if you can convert it, otherwise I can do the math.

Hey I noticed your a chief. What unit? My neighbor is Master Chief Dan Briggs. He's a navy diver, and I'm pretty sure he runs 1st Force's Dive Locker. Good Dude. I'm in the Marines. We both live on base. He's a good ol boy. Hell of a wrench too. Just a chance.....

Not sure that I have ever met the MCPO, but I did know you were in the Military when you asked for MGRS....

Lots of experience in MGRS here. I used to do NGFS often at San Clemente Island.

The Lat/Lon that I posted above in WGS84 datum. If you are using a TOPO chart to find it, be sure that it is not a NAD27 Datum.....it would be way off.

Here is the MGRS that I got. Could be wrong though. Double check it off of the lat/lan
This is the trailhead at Wildomar OHV

I'll have to bust out the map I guess.
I can't remember the exact way to convert it, so I'll plug the Lat/Long into my GPS and then change the settings.
Oh damn! That'll have to wait until tomorrow. The wife has the GPS in her truck. She was GeoCacheing. That's a good time if you ever get bored.

you said you work wknds? all day we can do a wildomar trip there and back with 3 or 4 hours of play time. it takes about 1hr there from my house and add 15 min from sc. did you say you are in the militery? cool! hope you don't mind goofin off with a old long haired surfer/skater ok I'm not old 45 just feel 70 every morning untill a hot shower. I could be free friday afternoon or sat or sun at least this week

chris
PS we don't need no gps I've lived here a long time and can give directions or we can meet at my house or at freeway and ortega or anywhere along the way

Friday afternoon may workout really well. The wife can go that day too, and it's be cool to have a camera girl.

Somebody mentioned that it's an OHV park....is there a cost to get in? Anything special required? Certain weight prohibited?

Also, I have all kinds of tools, ut haven't built a very good storage spot yet, so is there anything special I'll need? Also, anybody that's been there before, what's the terrain like? Real hardcore or not so much? I'm building my truck to do some hardcore stuff, but don't have my lockers in yet, so will it still be cool or no? TThis will be one of the first real shake downs for the K5, other than weak stuff on base, so I'm not totally knowing what to expect from it yet, but wanna find out!!!

Oh yea, I'm in the Marines. Have 20 days left until I get out. Been in for 8 years plus, was gonna do 20, got hurt and now have to get out. Oh well. What will be will be, right?

FRIDAY!!!!
