One of my buddies in our club runs a '78 F-250 regular cab/long bed (Dana 60's locked f&r, 38 TSLs, no lift = hacked fenders). His F-250 and my K5 are the only fullsize rigs that run with our club on a regular basis and we go everywhere the Jeeps, Samurais, Toyotas, etc... go.....but just expect the body of a LWB truck to get ugly rather quickly.

For off-road performance, the long wheelbase really helps on a lot of stuff and we usually take turns pulling Jeeps up the nasty hills.

I started trying to think of trail runs with the longer rigs... and I couldn't think of too many. I know I've had a longbed and my friend has had his yellow Suburban around alot of tight spots on back mountain roads. The Crew cab has been around a few, but not too many.

I love pulling jeeps and other small trucks out. They go for a wild ride because they are like rags dolls, so they say /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

The crappy part is, you need something big to pull you out if you get stuck. My buddy wants to have a competition with his stupid Jeep CJ stock with MTRs. I told him i'm not going in any mud hole because you aint pullin my ass out.

Buddy of mine made several runs at the badlands in a short bed ext cab 2000 dodge ram

I went wheeling for a bit yesterday with my buddy Vince (Vince13) in his crew cab on 39.5 boggers. I have a new respect for long wheelbase vehicles.

I used to think that they couldn't be all that great because of poor manuevering but after seeing the ledges he climbed I was blown away /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif. We crawled up an 8 foot wall that would have been impossible in my k5. The damn truck was near vertical.

It was so unbelievable that I'm making him crawl it again tonight just to take some pics to show you guys. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I'll post up tonight or tomorrow depending on how long it takes to put my clutch back together. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif You guys will love it /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif
