where are the step sides???

That is looking sweet!....

I owned a 56 Chevy 3200 series years ago..(1978 to be exact--had it a couple of years)..I kick myself in the a$$ for selling it(especially when I see one like your at a show,or online! :doah: )..it wasn't rotted all that badly.just had some floor rot..being an 18 year old goober,I patched it using an old snow shovel and my friends fathers ancient arc welder..

It looked horrible(the floor!),but at least it coverd up the holes..man,what I could have done with that truck if they had MIG welders then--I had several 71-72 GM trucks too,a couple of K5's(one was a CST!)and a 71 GMC K1500..all were rusted pretty bad,but not to the point they were not fixable..I could have put one of their chassis under my 56,much like your doing!.. :doah: ...dont see many of those here anymore..

who sells trucks that clean? honestly though Its hard to say from a small single picture but looks like a really nice clean truck

K10andy's is bad a$$. a little rough but well used. hit him up, might have an axle for ya too and we all are here in socal

A few years back, my Dad gave me a '80 stepside K10 4x4. It originally came with a 350/SM465/205, but for some reason, he had a TH350/NP208 swapped into it before I got it. The thing was such a POS thanks to whoever worked on it for my Dad that I just parted it out.

The '56 is still a work in progress. The doubler kit should be here next week but I've messed up my shoulder so it will be a while before I can put it in. The body needs a lot of attention but I want to wheel it for a while first. I took it out a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to do just about everything I wanted so I'm happy with it. I don't go wild since these body parts are a little harder to find and tend to cost a lot more.

I'm trying to get the daughter to try driving it, but she's afraid of it. Keep telling her it's just a truck but she won't get behind the wheel...

Man rocks will disgrace that thing.

Man I would've given my right arm for a truck like that when I was a teenager. I almost got my parents to buy me a '57 on a later model frame w/ a 383 in it for about 5k, but they thought it was too big (had a 4+" body lift so the body was uncut) and too fast, so they got me a '84 furd with a straight six, :( , since eighties chevy's had those deadly expolding side gas tanks that killed thousands :haha: . Oh, well. We could probably talk all night could ofs and should ofs, and didn'ts.

Mine has no rust, and despite a dented drivers door and multiple colors, it's straight.

From what I can tell, previous owners used a '73-'80 frame and bed, replaced the stepside fenders, and used a cab and front clip off a 1982 C10 longbed.

Guess I'll have to plug in my non-rusted northwest rig too

It used to be straight. :(

This belongs to a guy I know, has a small b&m blower on it, sounds SWEET :D
Pictures don't do it much justice, it does needto be cleaned up though.

my next project will be a pre-runner step side. they just look tough.

From earlier this spring. '77 w/ 90 nose conversion. I crushed that rear fender later in the day. I'm not spending $300+ for a good replacement. I'll be devloping some form of exo-skeleton/ panel system to replace.
