okay folks tell me where you got your dana 60 from cause i know i'm not the only one looking from a resonable D60 (aren't we all).
this is what i've found
Boyce---starts at $2,500
dynatrac--- starts at $4,295[image]/forums/images/icons/shocked.gif[/image](made out of gold)
USA6x6--- $1,300 sold out (sh!t)(might not get any more)
gsaauction.gov---- $500 for whole K30(yeh like i'm gonna find a deal like that)
So guys and gals what else is out there for us in search of the elusive (resonable) dana60.
I broke a truetrac in a dana44hd that I purchased from Boyce along with a 14boltff w/detroit. They gave me 500 bucks towards anything they carry. I opted for a Dana 60 open diff. It came all pretty and on a pallette. The only thing I would have done differently is not purchased superwinch hubs. One of the caps broke on the driver's side hub. I had a shop install an ARB in the d60 and I'm super happy. The money was worth it because it is hard to find a 60 that is in good cond. for decent money.

Yeah tell me about it... When I find a place you'll be the first to know..I think Boyce is gonna get my money, but I'm hang'n on just a lil longer.

If I knew, I'd have one

You and me both!

What do you consider a good deal? I bought mine from Roger and couldn't be happier, everything except the paint was in excellent condition.

I find them here and there. Most of them are farmers who have broken down their trucks. Some I have found just laying in the back of some businesses, like oil well services, etc.

Yeah, $500 for a complete K30 from GSA Auctions was sure a deal that I could not pass!! Just waiting for the damn truck to get here though. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

What did you pay? To me a good deal is one that is ready to bolt and roll for under a grand. An even better deal is when the axle ferry puts one under my pillow at nite while I'm asleep, but I think thats just wishful think'n./forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Just to let you know there is a mid 80's K30 chassis on ebay right now. D60 front w/4.56 and trac lock and a 14FF w/4.56 and a detroit. There is currently two bidders on it right now and last I checked it was at $1200.

$1000 for an open used just to set things straight./forums/images/icons/smile.gif Kinda funny but every post my name and Dana60 are mentioned in I wind up getting PM's. Another funny thing is I did not buy mine from Roger but I did buy my 14ff from him./forums/images/icons/smile.gif

No problem, I just always thought it was kinda funny./forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Bought mine from a salvage yard in Tacoma, $600 for 4.56 geared D60 w/o hubs and a 14BFF with Detroit locker. Spent another $200 on Warn hubs and brake pads. 84 military 1 1/4ton truck they came out of had 41k on it. That was 6 years ago.

sorry wayne again DOH. thanks for the info all i hope this helps me and everyone else who is insearch of resonable D60. when i say resonable i mean $1000-$1300 used but of course i'm flexable. i've been looking into beefing up my D44 and come up with this.
cromo shafts-$500-$600
CTM's-$300
still have to regear-$300-$400 for parts.
=$1100-$1300 and i still gotta D44
so a used 60 sounds better and better.

I got a ready to be bolted in Dana 70 and Dana 60, both open with 4.56 gears for $1200 from a friend that got them in a trade... thats how I get all my stuff. Bartering and trading.

CTM's in a D44 would be the GM equivilent to a Furd Exploder or Heep whY Junk (YJ), always broken down/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

IMHO...

well CTM's and cromo are certainly better than stock. but is it worth $800? i'm not convinced it is. the folks over at pirate seem to think so but then again there rigs don't weight 6000lbs.

I got my D60, and 14FF for $400, and the guy pulled them for me! The K30 was stripped down and rusting out in his grove when I found it. Farmers have all the cool junk laying around!
