Where do y'all have your Electric Chokes wired to?

I ran a wire thru the firewall and into the fuse block for mine. works perfect.

Anybody see a problem hooking it up to the field post on the alternator (given I can find it lol)? Fused of course. The Holley manual for my carb/choke says to test the choke slot on the fuse block because many do not receive a full 12V and apparently I need at least 12V for this thing to run right.

It's a 80457S if that makes any difference. Some Street 600CFM 4BBL that came with the truck.

So I got the choke wired up. The back of the Alternator didn't have the field post I needed. I couldn't track down the choke wire either. The PPO really did a number on the harness. Missing wires here, cut wires there and something that looked like a melted trailer harness wired directly into the main harness that wasn't plugged into anything. Really the only thing wired up to the motor is the coolant temp, alternator power and the oil pressure (which I couldn't find but am assuming it's towards the rear under the dizzy).

I did find an cut ignition hot coming from the main harness that was in a perfect place to wire the choke too. I couldn't find a corresponding fuse that went with it but the voltage was perfect and after tuning the high idle cam, it seems to run much better. The high idle cam is still getting stuck sometime and I have to quickly go WOT and off a couple times for it to settle down. I've ran some Carb cleaner over it but might need to do more when I get home.
