Hi guys,

I have a lot of vibration in my front end when I go down the road , stop, or turn. So I figure its time to replace the tie rods and ball joints. My two questions are:
Are there any other parts I should replace that might be causing the vibration? Should I replace my idler arm as well? I never got a longer one when I went with the raised suspension.
Second question: Are the replacement parts out of LMC or Orange county good ones to use or are their aftermarket which are better? I also thought I might try NAPA or Pepboys but they didnt have the parts.

I have a '71 Jimmy with 2 inch lift running 33"s. Its a daily driver but I go off road occasionally.

moog front end parts are the best. i just did ball joints on my 88 Dodge Power Ram W150 and went with moog ball joints. the boots are pretty thick rubber and they have grease fittings for longer life. it only has 43,000 miles and still had the original ball joints. the only one that wasn't bad was the passenger side upper, but it tightened the steering up a whole lot. is your jimmy a 4x4 or a 2x4? whats orange county btw?

I second the Moog parts. They may cost a little more, but they're worth it. Napa should have the parts in stock or be able to get them next day, well for Monday now.

any local parts house should keep them in stock, or at least be able to have them next day. I work at an oreillys and we keep them in stock.

like mentioned get the moog parts. the cheapy house brands usually have a lifetime warranty but changing them out every year sucks.

thanks everyone, ill check moog.

BTW when I mentioned Orange county I was speaking of the Truck and Car Shop in Orange, CA . They have just about every part for a 1st gen blazer or jimmy

oh ok, i was just wondering since ive never heard of orange county. as mentioned before, any local parts store should have them in stock. mine were for a dodge and they had them in stock (i was shocked). if not though, you can try www.partsamerica.com as well
