I'm trying to track down a timing issue and know there is a wire that can be disconnected to reset the timing, but I can't find it. Where the heck is it?

tan w a black stripe over by the brake booster....

Thanks. Found it. Now, next stupid question. I though there would be some type of connection in the wire. All I find is one solid wire. How is it to be disconnected?

Just as the others have said. What truck? Seems i have heard on the 87+ pickups that they were somwhere else like by the heater box or something strange.

On my 87 it's on the right side of the booster, not the left, sorry. Look at the pic and notice the connector taped to the wiring harness where it goes to the fuse junction box.

Found it. Thanks. I was looking at the correct wire, but on the left side of the booster where it goes back into the bundle. Obviously I'm not a mechanic.

My mothers '94 and a few friends running S-10's all with 4.3 v-6's are always down under the glovebox area, wondering if that's just a 4.s thing though as all the trucks I have seen with larger engines are always next to the brake booster under the hood.

Again, thanks for all the help. I ended up taking the distributor out after taking the cap off. What a rusted out piece of junk. I can't believe I was getting any spark at all to begin with.

I think they changed the location in those years. My '95 Yukon had it behind the glove box too.
