I've read the famous Pirate 4x4 article about the replacement, and I have also put a search on the well covered subject in the CK5 vault. But I cannot find an auto parts store that sells them or that even knows WTF their for.

Please list known sellers of this product so I don't have to order them directly from the manufacturer and pay a PREMIUM price.

I think NAPA sells them if not I get them at a place that sells bearing and belts and seals. The little buggers aren't cheap for what your getting!!!!

For what application are you wanting the speedi sleeve? We sell them here at our Car Quest store.

I'll bite. So what are they?

They are a thin wall repair sleeve for a sealing surface that has a groove wore into it from years of a seal wearing into the part.

a lip sela wears a groove in to the shaft over time......so a new seal will not hold oil. speedi-sleave is a thin metal sleave with a resized lipseal that covers the groove.

14 bolt FF for a duelly

Do they have a car quest number? If so I would be able to order them locally.

I have the Pirate listed number as CR#99282 for the speedi sleeve.

Another question which I may regret the answer to is:

My brake shoes on my k3500 are new and covered in the gear oil can they be cleaned or do I have to bite the bullet and get a new set.

You should be able to use A BUNCH of brake clean and clean them up for re-use.

That part number is correct and it's the same number for Car Quest.

Thanks guys! I'll call them tomorrow and post up the different and current parts numbers and prices from each store that carries the SKF #99282.

I was gonna say if you can't locate the sleeve you can always replace the old seal and when installing the new one just don't position it in the same exact place the old one came off of- don't beat it in all the way, for example.
