I have the standard rear window issues and was planning on replacing, rewiring, cleaning anf lubing everything. I thought while I was at it I would replace the switch too. Trouble is I can not find a replacement anywhere. I looked at Chevy Duty and LMC and did not see them. Does any one know where to find them, or this just another part that is not available any more?

Thanks.

Matt

I don't know about new ones but...

Suburbans have the same switch in them. Blazers with power gates are hard to find intact. Suburbans are real easy to find with power gates.

I picked up one at the local Chevy dealer for under 20 bucks. I know a lot of folks cringe at the idea of going to a dealer for parts, but there's a lot of stuff still available for our trucks from GM and a lot of it is actually cheaper than from LMC, I've discovered. A bunch of LMC's parts are oem stuff that's prices have been marked up crazy. I think they are counting on getting the customers that just assume that the dealers are a rip-off without actually checking them out first.

When you get that part number, compare your dealers price to gmpartsdirect.com's shipped price.

I'm pretty certain the part # is, 14040844. My girlfriend has been keeping track of every cent I've spent building my Blazer to date. She's put together a nice binder for every receipt I have for it. It's kinda nice to be able to access a part # or whatever but at the same time, it's sort of like, HOLY $HIT!, it's no wonder I'm so damned broke!

Hey GRIMJAW, didn't notice until after I posted that your truck is '79. That part # is for '85. Don't know if that switch will interchange with older model. Sorry

It looks just like the one that was in my 91 and in the 85 parts truck I have. If not, I will make it work.

WHAT??? Quality gave me a price of like $150 or something. For the switch w/key, as seen in the parts book. Oooh you're getting a PM. I need one! LOL

Edit: oops, didn't see that it's for the DASH switch. I need the rear keyed switch. :(
