where to mount my new tach?

I wish I had a pic of it but in my 73 dually I replaced all the gauges with autometer gauges. It is really easy. I just took off the black gauge cover. Took out the gauges. Threw away the gauges. Cut the sleeve part off of the bezels. And the gauges slid right in. The only part that took any real time was testing each wire to find what signal responded to each gauge.

I ended up ordering the Autometer Pro Comp gauges. got a new speedo, voltometer, oil pressure gauge, fuel gauge, and water temp gauge. no tach... dont really need with an auto, plus it was another 100 bucks. (i'll just block off the hole or something where the old fuel gauge was) But I am in the process of "customizing" the stock dash and plastic panel behind it. The new 2 5/8 gauges fit perfectly into the holes on the left of the dash. BUT, the plastic cones that filled in the empty space between the dash and the old gauges were in the way. So, I spent some time cutting those out, and the new gauges slide right in now. So it will end up lookin pretty similar to ryokens previous post but in a stock dash. The speedometer will probably still be placed where it was originally, as the new speedometer is the same size as the old one. I'm not really sure yet about securing the speedometer yet, the other gauges will secure fine with the clamps that come with them push against the back of the dash holding them in, but the speedo won't have that....hmmm.....

i have mine mounted on the steering column. with an automatic when im in park the tach is off to the side but when in drive the tach is dead center. it doesnt block the other gauges either. only blocks out the 85 mph and the speedometer is rarely over there. i used to some rubber strips and a hose clamp to mount it. works great
