Where to Wheel!!!!!

I see how you like to take bits and pieces of messages and try to work them to your point of view. Thats cool. I dont find fault with that. But if you want to nit pick I used Fullsize and CK5 not to point fingers. I cant help what types of vehicles I saw. That why I wrote that. Not because I dislike fullsize rigs. I grew up with one and they are fun as hell. I also wheel with fullsize rigs. Which you failed to bring back up later. I personally think that I did nothing wrong here. Maybe I came across differently to some. I didnt mean to. I had something to say and also didnt have names or all the facts. Thats why I came here. Not because I dislike or look down upon and class of vehicle or the owners of those vehicles. Just because I drive a Jeep and you drive a Fullsize doesnt mean either one of us is any less of a man. I learned from this board that the whole group wasnt together. That others were upset as I was. That others also brought it to the offenders attention. I was not saving face by talking about the other things I saw. I said it cause it needs said. I didnt say that us jeepers arent angels to save face either. I said that because its the truth. But hey I dont know what to say. Some of you folks will always be looking for a jeeper to mess up to toss back at me. I will just keep my eyes open for any one screwing up and post in the places I feel will get the broadest viewing so as to try and stop some from doing things like that. If that bothers some then so be it. I refuse to let ANYONE screw up my chances to wheel the trails I love.

I agree that it is best to look for the good. However, I'm pretty sure the words he used were intentional. I don't think it matters that much compared to the other issue but it is something that people need to think about as well.

This is what he said:
"I am just wanting to get the opinion of club members in here about staying on open roads and not running closed ones? I ask because this weekend in Colorado My buddy and I whitnessed a group of Fullsize rigs attempting an old hill climb that was closed. I mean I watched them drive over the damn sign saying it was closed. Is this something you all agree with?? Oh buy the way the only reason I came to this sight is 2 of the trucks had stickers from this sight. So much for being responsible huh?? "

If it read:
"I am just wanting to get the opinion of club members in here about staying on open roads and not running closed ones? I ask because this weekend in Colorado My buddy and I whitnessed a group of rigs attempting an old hill climb that was closed. I mean I watched them drive over the damn sign saying it was closed. The latter takes nothing away from the message other than some of the prejudices. The prejudices might not have been intentional but I find the choice of words entertaining, especially since he claims not to be looking down upon us or whatever. I think he came here with resentment, hopefully it's gone now. I don't think he actively thinks we're bad people but he categorized us as bad people because of who we are in the sense that we drive the same things as the offender. I'm glad he made us aware but his opening statement is designed to put the receiver on the defensive. Nothing says it more than the last sentence.

Maybe he didn't mean to, but he did.

Maybe I shouldn't get involved, but this is petty, your comments make you sound just as prejudiced as you are accusing him of being. Would you have even brought this up if he didn't say he wheeled a jeep, or if his username wasn't "Jeepguy"?

You know, I guess it is a matter of peception BUT:

Let's say he was reporting a crime that had occured and stated that he saw two black guys in the store attempting to open the door.

Is that a racist statement? Or is he just properly identifying the suspects? It seemed like a pretty harmless description to me, maybe I am just thicker skinned than some of the folks here.

I did not see anything spiteful about his statement, and think it took some nuts to come here and potentially get his head bitten off.

I would have handled it differently and confronted the idiot right then about entering a closed trail, and told hime to cut it out or I would go find a LEO for his dumbass. But to each his own. I'm not going to try and read intent into someone else's words.
