jackshaft out of one of my boats, a 50' Hinckley with jet drive..

Bic lighter for size comparison...

I'll have to find out what series joint that is... :haha:

jackshaft apps in the boats are generally straight, or damn close to it.. But physical capability of the yoke/joint area looks about 25, 30 degree range...

It's just a way to transfer power from a gearbox to a drive component, in this case, a jet drive.. as opposed to a v-drive box, etc...

freakin thing weighs a ton... the shaft and both flanges weigh about 250 pounds, and it's only about 35"s long..

What size u-joint would that be?.........Boats R-US hereI come!!!!!:D

looks like an 1800 or 1880 series........ very much like the shafts on mud pump trucks...........that connect the 9000 series Allison automatic to the pump.

They strong enough that the shaft and joint are no longer the weak link in a 2250 HP driveline. So the bolts that attach the flanges are engineered torque fuses.

....here you can check it :D

yup, our driveline company is DSI drive systems inc. but they dish us stuff every now and then. one side measures joint widths the other side yolk widths........and its a magnet that I can stick to the side of my steel toolbox

I just asked our company rep for it......i saw it in his bag. I'm sure you can go to any driveline shop and get one.

i saved both pics of the ruler.....wonderin if certain% stretch in paint to give it correct measurements out of the printer would work....will you give me a wide even measurement from any two lines that measure sum'n = to tape measure and tell me line so and so, on left ..to line so and so, on right..='' inches...does that make sense...so i can set scale, since the resizing is done in % in should move all line proportional, if we can get a wide "true" measurement from 2 of its lines and set % to get the numbers right when we print pic...heck once you got it set, use real photo paper and laminate it/

i sure we can get a measurement from line 1210 to 1650, or 1760 1810 oh wait looking at it it has a reular ruler on top, that i can calibrate off of..:doah:

crash course on how to read , please
