Which axles fit under a blazer without serious modification

....I have 35" tires and a 10 bolt rear end with 4.56 gears.

I think I chiped the current ring and pinion it makes a ticking noise while driving forward it goes away if I throw it in nuetral.

From the very first post in this thread...he was looking for a replacement for the 10b rear.

This is a great post about the rear end. What about the front axle? If you're going to wheel, dont the front and real gears have to match? I've been considering the 14bsf swap for the rear, but there is little mention of the front axle.

He upgraded to a 14bsf w/ 6 lugs (a light duty 3/4 ton rear). A good upgrade for the 10b since it needed a ring and pinion.

Opinions differ, but a 10 bolt front is generally thought to be tough enough for moderate wheeling (with 35's) and definitely ok for street use. He wanted to tow, so the rear end gets the most stress. The front end on a 3/4 ton would only be a 10 bolt with 8 lugs

There is a ton of literature on this site about upgrading axles.

Really the only simple front axle upgrade would be a Dana 60, and it would look a little silly with a weak (relatively speaking) 14bsf behind it.
