This is a great post about the rear end. What about the front axle? If you're going to wheel, dont the front and real gears have to match? I've been considering the 14bsf swap for the rear, but there is little mention of the front axle.
He upgraded to a 14bsf w/ 6 lugs (a light duty 3/4 ton rear). A good upgrade for the 10b since it needed a ring and pinion.
Opinions differ, but a 10 bolt front is generally thought to be tough enough for moderate wheeling (with 35's) and definitely ok for street use. He wanted to tow, so the rear end gets the most stress. The front end on a 3/4 ton would only be a 10 bolt with 8 lugs
