Which Chip Should I Use For 454 TBi with TH400?

One question, and how is everyone?

I got a 454 Tbi 1995 Engine with no computer and chip. It's going in a Dually 1983 C20 with a TH400 in place of a Carburated 454 that blew out.

Can you use a 1995 computer with a late 1980s chip that will operate the engine with the 3 Speed Automatic Turbo 400?

Overall, I rather go fuel injection in general. I'm not into Carburators unless it's for short term use.

Computer PN and chip are a matched pair generally. Need to find one that was used for your setup. Unless you are going to buy an aftermarket chip, then you can use the computer and have the chip made for it. But you still need to find a computer that supports your setup. It shouldn’t be hard since the TH400 isn’t computer controlled, other than maybe a torque converter lockup switch.

You may be able to find answers over on gearhead-efi.com if no one here can answer you. That is the one-off high pressure TBI setup so it's not the same as earlier. Fuel pump has to be different, injectors are, regulator, who knows what wiring could be different between it and earlier TBI setups. If it came from an auto trans, there will be a ton of extra wiring.

I only see 2 PCMs for a 1995 K3500 (each appears to use a different wiring harness), and both appear to be for electronic transmissions. Maybe the memcal from a manual trans truck can be used in those ECMs, but with the higher pressure injectors, and wiring for an electronic transmission(?), it's unlikely this is going to be plug and play. Hopefully whichever PCM you need works fine with the proper memcal for a manual trans. This assumes you could get the 4500 behind a 454. I dont know.

Earlier 454 TBI stuff isnt going to work unless you swapped all the wiring, injectors, and ECM to an earlier year.
