Which D60f axle shafts are you running?

The Longfield joints are by far the best bang for the buck, basically the strongest u-joint you can buy at half the price of a CTM.

Yukon shafts in D60's are fine, its the D44 Yukon stuff that has a really bad reputation.

Alloy USA was sold recently, sounds like their old shafts will still be warrantied but future shafts will be produced under another name.

Superior makes good stuff, but at twice the cost of Alloy USA and Yukon.

If you feel like dropping $2K on shafts, nothing will beat the Longfield CV's.
Not to hijack too far, but are those Longfield joints for the D44 the same as I would use in my 10b? I want to replace the joints before I swap the axles in, and might as well insure they will last the life of the vehicle.

10 bolts and D44's use the same joints

hijack real quick

i measured my 42s tonight (1/4 to 1/2 tread) on the truck and they measured 40...im running a 465/208 and 456s both locked (lockright front, detroit rear) 30 spline outters and warn premos,1410s all the way through...how long will my 30 spline stuff last

Longfield CVs are the BOMB!! I am not nice to mine at all and have had NO issues with them!!!! And they turn MUCH smoother!

As far as the condition of the joints: We found the caps with the broke off trunion in them. All the needles are were intact & there was still grease in them. The broke yoke ear was around the cap & it did not look like it was hit by the other yoke. I only got about 3-4 good rides on them. Not in the rocks yet either.

Wow a 540! Thats really cool and I'm sure that your rig isnt babied. With what you have blown up so far I would say go for the Longfield assemblies. Man, with that motor and heavy foot I think anything you put in there has a very limited lifespan! Have fun!

With skinny 38's, automatic, and basically stock 6.2 I completely snapped 2 30-spline stubs in half, and one was severely twisted when I pulled it to replace with 35-spline stubs. You have to be careful because there is a chance that a broken stub will bound up in the spindle and break it, thus causing lot's of other damage.

I broke a 30 spline stub and Warn premium hub at the same time on 37" MT/R's, I wouldn't really trust them with 42's. I switched to 35 spline outers, flanges and 42's after that trip and haven't looked back.

Your call though.

I think mine are alloys.... They didn't fit through the knuckle.
