i have all my parts together( th400,203, 32spln205,) and am ready to order a doubler. i was thinking ORD, but after looking at NWF i like the ability to clock it up flat later if i want to. which do you guys run or like and why?

I bought the ORD, as at the time I wasn't aware of NWF, and it worked out that ORD was making them in the config I wanted literally that week. I have heard horror stories, however, about long lead times (six months) from ORD. Check with them before you order -- they don't always stock these things.

The NWF is more flexible; I've not checked price, but if it's in the same ballpark, check with them on lead times as well.

Remember you'll need a specific adapter -- you got a TH400 '203, huh? wow! -- and then there's the crossmember stuff... a doubler project will invariable snowball, ask me how I know :D

yeah check it out- i got the 400 completely rebuilt w/ 2500stall converter w/ the FACTORY 203 on it and a th400 version 205 (32spln duh) all for 650. beat that:eek1: :D oh yeah it came w/ the 400-203 crossmember and the 205 camew/ one too. my 205 is round patt.

ive got a nwf doubler and it looks tits! i cant wait to get it in!

i emailed them about the shifters... maybe i'll here something. have heard one bad story w/nwf so far none w/ ord. they seem to use similar materials and nwf is a little cheaper hmmm.

i voted ORD slightly over NWF only because I have ordered ALOT of stuff from them and never had an unexpected problem----with anything that involves machining--no matter what company--ask if they have the parts ready and if not how long. These parts don't just come out of the ground.

I didn't vote NWF only because I havent orderd anything from them before but their product does look top notch and I do like the clocking ability so I would definately do more research than "which one do you guys like?"

I have the NWF unit, as well as their triple stick shifters. I also had them build me a 203 range box and a 205 stem to stern with all the good parts. They were very timely, with the parts arriving when promised each time. they were also willing and able to custom build my triple stick set-up for the NV4500 based on a rough sketch I drew up for them...at no extra cost.

Kyle was so easy to deal with and competitive with his pricing I also got all my NV4500 rebuild parts, AA bellhousing, bilstein shocks, extended brakelines, bumps-stops and hydro clutch stuff from him. In each case he was able to get it to me for less than if I had ordered them directly. That does have a lot to do with the average Joe's costs bringing stuff into Canada from the US though. Being in Canada I quickly started using NWF as my one stop shopping place

Either way, he was a pleasure to deal with in every way...and the products are top notch IMHO. The parts he builds personally he seems to keep a good supply of, and the parts he doesn't...are beyond his control of course. He was very good at keeping me informed when there were delay's beyond his control though.

I like ORD parts for a 203/205 parts are just a junk yard away and ORD parts are made great and fast. I've never ordered from northwest fab to give an opinion of them yet.

i've done business with ORD and NWF. the clockability is just awesome with the NWF one. that's what i'm going to run. the 203 is inverted and the lomax is clocked up 4". i'm barely gonna start on the designs for the x-members, which seem would work better over the top. but that's beside the point. i've ordered a lot of $$$ worth of parts from both companies & they're both awesome. for the doubler, it's purely preference. ability to clock or not to clock is what it all comes down to. for regular parts, well Kert's the man i go to now...just not overpriced like the ORD stuff. my vote is for the NWF doubler.

got a link? i googled "high impact transmissions" + doublers and got an early bronco site thats i belive to informative not retail. the picture of the doubler looked like a gen1 ord unit. maybe i was looking at the wrong thing.

I have ordered a lot of parts from ORD, and was satisfied every time. When it came time for the Doubler puchase, I almost went with them, instead of NWF. However, NWF was a little cheaper, and I liked the clockability feature, so I went with NWF.

Honestly, I was not blown away with NWF. When I recieved my order, it was incomplete. They did make it right, but it took awhile. I believe this has something to do with clearing customs between Canada and the US, not necessarily NWF. The round adapter plate that was supposed to fit the NP205 transfer case had a hole drilled in the wrong spot. No matter how I rotated the part, flipped it, and rotated it again, I could not bolt it on because one hole was always off. This rather pi**ed me off. Instead of dealing with long shipping times and more waiting, I drilled it myself and made it work. Other than that, most of the other parts appeared to be high quality. I was not overly impressed with NWF triple stick shifters either, they seem to be rather cheaply made, compared to others I've seen. I have used the Doubler in the field, and it does work. Shifting the two NP205 transfer case levers is a little difficult, and I'm not sure why.

Whenever I called NWF with a problem, it usually took a few calls on my part to get through, they didn't seem to be in a hurry to return mine. When I did get someone on the phone, they were helpful though.

Like I said, I wasn't blown away with NWF, but there products do appear to be working well in my truck, except for the hard shifting (which probably isn't there fault anyway). Even though their product is clockable, I have not tried any different adjustment yet, but I might. If I had to do it again, I think I would try ORD, for a true comparison. This is just one man's opinion...

I voted ORD.One piece billet beef. Not too keen on having something two piece in such a high stress area.

But thats just me :D

There was a thread on a NWF doubler that broke/fell apart. Bad day for that dude on the trail with his 205 hangin.......litterally.

I got the NWF. The only thing I am worried about is the (4) 3/8" bolts holding the adapter to the 205, which makes the 205 basically cantilevered except for the input shaft of the adapter going into the 205 is presumably taking the load which transfers to the bearing loading. Seems to be working fine now but I haven't none anything serious offroad with it yet.

They have a support kit for the 205 that they were supposed to post some pictures on their site but I have not seen it yet.

The picture o their site is of a Gen 1 ORD doubler. Either they are selling ORD doublers or pirated the pic?
