my immediate first reaction is #1.. but as Dave said get the numbers off the vertical so we know what we're working with... oh, and all 3 of those are electric choke if i'm seeing right..

Not #2, its a BOP, and would look goofy on a chevy with the front fuel fine

with the picks ive seen I say 1 or 3

EDIT: does the bottom of#3 look melted?

Yep, agree with this quote. Don't use this one. You would have to bend new fuel line to the filter or cut it down lower and rubber hose it to compensate for the wrong bend.

I wouldn't rule out electric chokes. Just need to get them to work properly. Like the others said about getting numbers off them, do that. Worst case scenario: you'll probably mix and match parts from either carb to make one good rebuilt one.

Ok here ya go...

He said it has been.... They built a 500HP motor... Tried this carb...then rebuilt it.. No change.. Put a big Holley on it...

That carb has a lot of run time since the rebuild. Or they never cleaned it during the rebuilding. Which to me, is not a rebuild. Means they put new gaskets in and maybe set the float.

that's a hot air choke setup...not sure where the supply comes from though, usually somewhere on the intake manifold where it would heat up quickly.

17055038 2536..this number doesn't come up, check it again...the numbers shown here represent 1975 model year w/ manual trans, but the 0 before the 38 relates to a single barrel carb:dunno: also shows it was built on the 253rd day of 1976
:dunno:
17058253 2507 BBC..78 model year Olds, manual trans. built on the 250th day of 1977

17084226 3403..84 model year, chevy automatic built on the 340th day of 1983

straight off.. your eyes see something different?

appreciate your help...

so some carb cleaner... and this will be the one to go with..
i need both front long bolts though or it would have been on already..

so u think this will move my truck???? my uncle keeps telling me that i need to test another carb to see if it is my carb or motor that is the problem..
my motor should be good.. and a slight adjustment on the carb and it runs totally different.. i dont have time fiddle with holleys... so im hoping this qjet is like all others i have ran...

THAT IT JUST RUNS!!!!

clean it up and throw it on and see how it does... most quads are VERY flexible in what they'll tolerate, but it may not have the "just right" rods and hangars in there for your mill....

you should just pony up and call jet or smi for a stage 2... $350 well spent bones on a carb spec'd to your motor...

considering how much i have into this holley already.. i would rather just pay the shop down the road to adjust it.. $75/hr.. should be less than $350...
i just want to try say a qjet to see if it is my carb or motor...
im really getting fed up with all of the running issues.. the issues are at a point where my wife says.. kids arent riding in it cuz it isnt safe..she doesnt understand that if it just wont go fast doesnt make it non safe... makes it safer..

im not going to shell out the extra money.. im really, really contemplating on saving up my cash and dropping a 2005 silverado 6.0L in it next summer... take my bonus check and just do it.... im also looking at starting my own business soon.. if that goes great.. take some of that money and do it..

if i adventure down that road... i will also drop a nv4500 in... but i was hoping to have a crew cab before i got to this point.... so i just want it to drive without hesitation and allow full skinny pedal...

qjet is now on...
took a few adjustments but it is running.. not the best but better already!!!!

so off to my timing marks thread...
