Which snowmobile to buy?

Go to Polaris' website and take a look. It seems pretty different, unless its all cosmetic. And Muddysub sorry for my comment thats cool /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

haha....ok...i was a little off. i looked it up. the 570 only has 70 hp, not 110hp. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif... so i guess that might be why the 700 with 140 hp seemed like it was so much better.
are you talking buying used from a personal seller or a dealer? because, i went to a snowmobile expo about a month ago and there were dealers selling used ones not much cheaper than going down a few aisles and buying a new sled. In particular, a 2003 Ski-Doo 600 H.O. with about 1000 miles on it compared to a new 2004.
i actually couldnt tow with my blazer right now for two reasons: it isnt running right now, and i dont have a hitch setup.
what is soo much better about the F7 over a Sabercat 700? it looks like it has the same specs except for the EFI stuff....
ok...well, some of the ones it seems are being mentioned are a little tooo expensive for me. i was probably considering the 5-6500 range. But, thanks for all the info.
I'll have to start more seriously shopping around before it snows and i dont have a sled to ride!

It's not all cosmetic. The only thing is, though, first year sleds are bound to have some issues. That has been evident already with the Fusion but I still think Polaris is right on top of things. I can't wait to ride one! The lakes here are starting to ice and snow is in the forecast. I have a '93 Indy Trail Deluxe that needs a rear suspension rebuild, but I got it quite cheaply. Sleds like the Z570 are more economical, and good for the trail too.

Like I said, I wouldn't buy a first year sled from any company.
70HP sounds a lot better for a ski doo 570. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif That is exactly why I am a big fan of the suzuki motors in the cats....my old 580 EFI had 95HP. I don't know how heavy the Sabre cat is but the main benifet to the F7 is that it weighs in at a measly 465 lbs. That is why it is such a great climber and deep powder machine.
About used machines.....it is going to be hard to get a deal on an used sled from a dealer, they always want top dollar to get the most out of them and to hopefully convince you to buy a new machine. Look in your local paper and get in with a big group. A lot of the guys in our group buy new machines every year and are trying hard to dump the one year old machine about this time. Ex...My 2003 Cat 900CC 159" mountain cat. I has 936 miles and I bought it off of one of our rider friends for $6500, that sled was $9K+ when he bought it new.
We also have a huge snowmobile party evey year in Oct. The dealers always show up with their new machines and tons of people bring used machines, all for sale.

As far as I know the diff in Sabercat vs F7 is suspension. Sabercat has a nice soft suspension. Not to say an F7 is stiff but its more tuned for my riding style, hard and fast.
