Hey everyone, I am looking at rebuilding my TH400. I have never done a transmission, but it can't be that hard. All the shops around here want way to much money. I have read the Ron Sessions book and also have the factory manual. The question is which kit to go with? Currently looking at this one off ebay

I also like the TCI maximizer kits for trucks but they are pricey. It will be going behind a 454 after it gets freshened up. I also already have the low gear set to put in and when I tear into it will find out if it has the 34 element sprag and drum.
Any thoughts would be welcomed.

I vote to find out where your local trans shops get their parts around there and go to that place. You'll probably be surprised at their prices and you WILL need them as a parts source once you tear into it anyway.
