Which truck?

Same advice you’ve gotten but those trucks really need 4” on 37”s. It’s perfect for the gearing. Cheap and easy to do and puts the engine right in its happy zone for cruising.
Yeah would be nice to find some 37" tires. Need a softer 4" lift too. The other option I'm looking at is a 4L80e trans.

I got on GOV Planet right after I read this thread and ObijuanK5 posted his pic..got me all dreamy. found a m1008 in Layton UT. right down the street from my brother, but the fan is on the front seat and the rear driveshaft is bent. they didnt start it and thats a.little too much for risk for a $1500 starting bid.
@Blazooki - Did you see what it sold for? $5900, worse shape and doesnt start or run.

I daily drove my cucv for almost 6 months. It did great. I loved every minute of it.
I daily drove a m1009 for about 5 years. 4 of those on 4" lift and 37" humvee tires. It was the most enjoyable vehicle to drive that I've ever owned and I miss it greatly. I drove 60 miles round trip. Put over 50k miles on it. I would get that m1008 in a heart beat. I was getting 19mpg even with the 37s. The m1008 will get a little less. Expect in the 15-17 range most likely. As for collectability, CUCV's are going up in value I think. They aren't being auctioned off nearly as much & the ones that do, are beat to hell.

EDIT: I should have read all the replies before commenting.....Congrats!! I'm very jealous. I want a m1008 in the worst way
