Whining noise in middle of truck

Yes I can use a vise and sockets, or pipe.
IDK do you have Habor Freight in the UK? The ball joint tool kit works well for uj esp in the field.

Wes id love for you to visit the uk m8 its cr@p everything is to the bare minimum here and if anythings ordered its usually Chinese junk and majority of the vehicles on the road 1.0 to 2.0l front wheel drives (sorry for rant) but im having to source everything including tools through rockauto nobody wants to even ship over here lol its bad but im not giving up i cant the truck was even registered new on my exact dob thats gotta mean something lol

Rock auto actually has a section here. Make sure you grab the %5 discount code. Got any Nato surplus places? CUCV will share some parts.

I have relatives somewhere in England, I have meet 2 cousins. that was back before William And Harry were born. I have lost contact.
We have another new UK member he has 2 Squares, He posted just a few above yours in the new member thread. Also 1 in Spain, and I think 2 in Sweden and I'm sure there are a couple more from Europe.
I was gonna ask isn't that big 6.2L taxed to all get out? What would it cost to drive into London for a day ?

I will have a look through see if i can find the new members and i think the tax is around £250 for the year as for london im about 3 hours but the emissions charges i would have to get back to you on the actual crazy part is the insurance i had a ford smax rhd 2.0 tdci it was costing £1540 a year for the k5 is a 6.2 lhd £300 for the year its nuts

other than the diesel fuel system swap. would be almost bolt in. the 4l60e will mate with current t case and adapter. then is just the computer and wiring. Radiator might need changing, the 6.2l is bigger and has the engine oil cooler. I guess the radiator would depend on inlet and outlet locations

edit 4l60e might need a different output shaft.

Thanks again for the info all the driving i do do is mainly short journeys and with British diesels i know that can be a bad thing im gonna have tomorrow on the truck changing engine mounts rear uj and plug in the transmission wiring if the tc was bad when i plug it in is there anything i should get ready for.

If tc stays locked up the eng may stall when put in gear. Iirc there is a vacuum switch in the control circuit. Also a break switch. Might want to check over the controls before you plug it in.

Il get the 4x4 light rewired first i take it thats gonna be a warning light of some kind and if it did lock would that be the torque converter shot or the tcc solenoid how would i be able to tell thanks again
