is it possible to do this for cheap by scrounging parts or are custom backing blates a MUST HAVE?i've got extra 3/4 front backing plates and calipers laying around.all i would really have to buy(new or used)is the front rotors.thanks

Clamp them to the backing plate flange and figure out (measure) how deep a rotor 'hat' you need.

You'll need a different mounting bracket. The 3/4 ton front brackets aren't even close.
