First time I looked it was a red 'X'. I had trouble linking with Image Station before myself though...

For whatever reason it works now. <shrug>

I came away with very minor damage. When the truck hit the upper arms nailed my cross member and it rubbed the harmonic balancer under accleration. Pulled it back and no more problems.

It's funny you guys mention "The Fall Guy". I was given an NP205 out of one of the stunt trucks a few weeks back.

My neighbor does transportation for the studios and it's been sitting in his shop for 15+ years!

I thought the Burt Reynolds movie was "Hooper" that had him driving backwards down the expressway???.And on the "Fall Guy",the K5 in the beginning credits they show jumping suffered at least a collapsed front axle tube,if you look closely you can see it fold under the truck just before the camera turns away....lord knows what else broke!.
I have "gotten air" a few times, not on purpose though--one day while crawling down a snow covered rt.495 in MA near framingham mass I was in my 72 K5--there was a bad wreck up ahead and the road was closed off by state troopers--and I was late for work..I spied another road about 80 ft down the embankment that went under rt.495--I asked the trooper if I could go down the ravine behind the gaurdrail and try to get to the other road--he said if you want to try go ahead, but you didnt get permission from me--and if you get stuck dont blame me!.So I locked my hubs and started behind the gaurdrail, but before I cuold aim to the right to point the truck at the other road, the ass end of the K5 starts sliding sideways down the ravine,so I steered it to the right and floored it--banged 2nd gear and aimed it doen the ravine, wide open with the 4 barrel screaming, rooster tails flying 20ft high all over the place, couldnt see a damm thing because I didnt anticipate the rooster tails of snow covering the winsheild. When I got to the bottom I was going at least 30 mph, pushing a wall of snow over the windsheild, and it was there I learned that there was a gaurdrail under 3 feet of snow the plows had covered it over.Luckily it was frozen hard and my K5 leaped over it and went at least 5 feet in the air.I hit the other road about in the middle of the first lane ,my frame rails dug into the asphalt and I trashed the front bumper--later I saw my front diff cover had peeled away from the housing, but no major damage.Somehow I managed to get the truck back in line with the street, and I got out to clean off the snow and inspect the damage,by then the tropper I talked to a minite before was right in my face screaming at me for "pulling such a stupid stunt"~! I guess his superior had shown up just as I decided to make my little detour--they almost wrote me up,but they saw how nervous I was(I smoked half a pack of butts in 20 minites!)and the said get out of here,we have enough to do with the accident(one person died at the scene, they slid into a cliff at 60 mph in a blinding snow broadside)so they basically told me to "screw"and said I had enough problems with my truck to teach me not to be so daring again!. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
The other time I was "fieldbeating"an old K10 pickup at a farm in my old hometown, there was a large hill about a 1/4 mile long we used to toboggan on--we had a blast driving that old truck up to the top in 4wd(it was very steep and quite a challenge to make it all the way to the top)--we took turns driving it,when I went to go back down the hill my friends called me a pussy for crawling down so slow--so I got it up to about 35 mph,and soon the truck was off the ground more than it was on--then a brake line popped and since it had a suicide master cylinder on it--no brakes!!.I remembered the E-brake about 30 ft from the end of the hill, and the beginnimg of the forest--We hit several small trees about 4 " in diameter, the truck was suspended in midair with the bent over trees under it,about 12' off the ground--we climbed out the back window to get out--took us the rest of the day with a bucket loader and a dump truck to get it back out.
I like it on the ground--if I want to fly,I'll take a plane or wait until God gives me wings!. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

If you ever see the intro scene to The Fall Guy again, watch closely as the truck is landing. You can see the front axle housing snap in half, right at the diff as it lands. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif Then they quickly cut to a side view of the truck driving away. It's either a different truck, or the same truck before the axle broke (or after a new axle was installed). /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Sorta like those jump scenes in Dukes Of Hazzard where you can watch the entire front clip of the car wrinkle up as the car lands on its nose, then they cut to a scene of the Duke boys continuing on their way in a car with no body damage. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

do you remember that movie were it was all stunt men and what,s his face spun his truck around and caught up with his friends so he could grab a beer in reverse??

[/ QUOTE ]

That would be "The Greatest American Stuntman" with Burt Reynolds and...uhhh... the guy who played Roscoe P. Coltrane on "The Dukes of Hazzard".

[/ QUOTE ]
Close! The name of the movie was Hooper. The subtitle on the posters was "The greatest stuntman alive! "

I jumped mine a few weeks back, i noticed the damage the morning after. between the cab and the front/rear fspring hangers i split the frame about 2" up.

i've jumped mine before I had good suspension. Broke the welds on the fenders and sheared the rod on 3 of my shocks.
Now that I have coilovers, I enjoy it much more though

I remember that Hooper was Burt's character, but I thought the movie's title was "The Greatest American Stuntman". Ooops.

I can hear the song playing in my head, too.

And no, I don't have it recorded. But I'll look "someplace" to see if "others" have it...

i jumped my truck at silver lake sand dunes memorial weekend, maybe only a foot or so, only carnage was i blew at least two shocks out.

one of my friends had a f150 that he jumped off test hill (biggest, steepest hill) up there at about 40 or so, he bend the frame big time, the box and the cab had about 8" gap and the front fenders were rubbing the tires all the time, i wish i had pics of that.

Lets see, on this particular jump i got over 3' of air and around 10' distance.. came down and broke a front shock mount off the axle tube... The battery came out and went into the electric fans, and the fans and battery went into the radiator destroying it and spewing coolant everywhere. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I had to be towed back to camp by my dad's jeep, and all we had with us was about 8' of chain, so i had to ride the brakes on the downhill spots so i wouldn't rearend him. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif On one of the uphill spots going back to camp the whole rear bumper ripped out the body mounts and all trying to tow my k5. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
Jumping your truck on memorial day isn't a great idea. I actually found a kragens open on the holiday and had to buy a new radiator... they only had a 4 core, but no brackets, so i had to bunjee cord the radiator to the core support to get me home. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

shuttup%20zakk.jpg

We've jumped my dads jeep dozens of times.. we've cracked the frame completely in half... Broken output shafts, Also cracked the frame in about 4 other spots... Bent both front leaf springs, and made the front driveshaft the bumpstop. /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif
Jumping is fun, but you learn your lesson sooner or later. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif It just takes some of us more broken parts than others to figure it out. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

...73k5tony510 jumped his truggy a few months ago, busted the Dana60 in half, cracked the tube outta the housing... and also cracked the 465/205 adapter in half. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

I did not actually get all 4 tires off the ground but in this pic

I managed to cave in the driver side inner fender
& rear passenger quarter panel. I guess I'll have to wait to get the chance to wheel the 44" boggers /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifThere are other ck5 members in the area but they have to get their rides back together. Hint nvrenuf & tarussell and others /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
