Cost me $80 including all paint, tape, masking paper, and a trigger gun thing for the paint cans. About 8 hours total work.

Page with all in progress pics

you are crazy,,,looks good, and i think you will definately fit right in there with the short bus logo :haha:

Windshield is being replaced later this week anyway, why waste time and money masking off something that is being removed? Also, thats almost entirely dust, it was dry when it landed on the windshield, so it wipes off with a wet rag.

how about a another pic of what looks to be a patrol in the back ground by the way k5 looks cool

That is a patrol, real good eye there. 1969 Patrol. Has baby bronco running gear. 302, c6, np205, 9", d44. Steering is right off the scary steering page. It belongs to my roommate. Basically never gets driven, its the "next" project as soon as he recovers from his SAS Pathfinder and the 800lbs-ft Powerstroke.

a friend of mine has one but its been stereched 14" tpi 350 60s the whole nine but needs to be finished

Whole truck looks good, less the hood and driver's side fender :P

The body damage drives me nuts, lol

Guessing you mean those patrol pics I sent? That was at his old house.. and as for the Independant stickers, while I used to have a set on my skateboard, I gave that up after eating a road at 30+... the stickers are from the previous owner.

good job! I want to rattle can my tow rig. Any idea how much paint it took for just the front clip + cab? I'm gonna have a flat bed in the rear. Just wondering about how many cans. :)

It took 23 cans of yellow, but a lot of the truck was a dark grey primer. Yellow doesn't cover too well. Probably 12-15 cans for the front half. Darker color would take way less. I painted an entire dodge regular cab longbed with flat black with 8 cans once.

Wow, not bad... I'm going to be using black too. Prolly a semi-gloss. Thanks for the skinny. Good call on buying the rattle-can-trigger gizmo... even spraying just one entire can of spray paint can wear your finger out. ;)

I made it through 4 cans (and seven fingers... pointer on both hands, middle finger on both hands, both thumbs, and started using the ring finger on my right hand) before deciding to splurge the $4.93 for the trigger thing. I figured it wasn't gunna bust my $100 budget.

thinking of doing a rattle can job on my project what'd you use to give it a shiny clear coat. can you even buy clear coat in spray cans?

Its high gloss paint. Woulda broke my budget to buy enough clear to cover. You dont really need clear on top of enamel anyway. If you're worried enough to clear it, you're worried enough to use real paint.
