I agree totally. I painted my rims black before I put them on. Like 7 years ago and they are holding up fine.

Its high gloss paint. Woulda broke my budget to buy enough clear to cover. You dont really need clear on top of enamel anyway. If you're worried enough to clear it, you're worried enough to use real paint.

That doesn't look bad at all. What technique did you use?- long strokes, maybe one panel at a time?

About 18" strokes, mostly one panel at a time. Spraying in the az heat with no humidity helps a lot. A monkey can paint decently when its 75-85, and less than 10% humidity.
