Who can give me the quick rundown on what differentiates the following models:

9.5xp - 156:1, 480A max current
9.5ti - 156:1 , 425A max current
9.5si - 156:1, 425A max current
9.0rc - 216:1, 465A max current

I don't see a comparison chart on the Warn site to make it easier...they all look like they have similar pull speeds, and current draw under full load...

The "rc" version looks cool because of it's small size, and it comes with synthetic rope standard so I don't have to buy anything extra. My intention is to do a hidden mount behind the front bumper, so being able to relocate the solenoid box would be important. The "si" version is a solid-state version that doesn't have solenoids, but the molded case is larger and may be a harder fit into limited space. Otherwise it looks like a cool choice.

Input? :dunno:

holy cow they've got a lot of 9k's! :eek1:

I have experience with the xd9000i. (integrated solenoid model)

It tends to heat up more than non integrated units, but the solenoids last a lot longer.

hope that helps somewhat.

The RC is the mini version that only holds like 50' of cable where the others are the larger models that hold more line. If they still make a "non-integrated" solinoid 9500 that would be easier to hide. Whatever 9500 you get from Warn I doubt you will be disappointed. They pull HARD. I recently picked up a used HS9500 non-integrated that will be going on my buggy. I have seen several Warn 9500's in action and have been impressed by them.

As far as the solinoids on non-integrated going out more i don't know. I have a Warn 12K that has been on my K5 for 5+yrs and was used when I got it and it still works great.

It can definitely suck to hide the type with the integrated solenoid.

I ended up with an xd9000, if I could have gotten a 9500XP, thats the route I would have taken for my hidden gig.....

tho sexy and intriguing, I'd be afraid of the bulk on the SI model...

I have the Ti and it would be hard to hide. It look nice though and I have never been let down by it in 5 years. The XP is non integrated solenoid, and is a great winch too. Prolly your best best for a hidden mount. I sold one a few years back to Esteban. Not sure what he did with it though.
