Who's got Propane???

that was over the summer, and it was just a local LPG fill up station in lafayette, i havent priced since june/july. make sure you tell them that you want the price after the flat tax, atleast thats how it works in LA not real sure about texas, etc

I'm running the 33.5lbs tanks and can get they already filled for $19.95 each. I not have to pay any kind of rent or deposit on them. I can run all day on about one and a half tanks. Right now the motor is a mild 350 with about 9:1. A slight loss of power, but not enough to justify spending the money to build a higher compression motor until something happens to this one.

I have seen mention of "dual fuel" set ups but can't find good info on them.

I would love to run Propane on the "Clean Up" truck for it's environmental impact. But the reality is that sometimes I might have to drive it some significant distance and would like the option to run gas as a backup if no propane can be found along the way.

I worked on a dual fueled truck years ago. The propane mixer sat on top of the carb like it was the air cleaner. Used the carb for the throttle in either case. What I don't recall was how the fuel change-over was handled. The propane would be the easy part to turn on & off. Not sure about the gasoline part of the syste.
