i started this post, but i forgot to tell you what mine is.......84K5 170,000 original miles w/ original 305/ new 700r4/10bolts...with 3:73...np208/ 4"rough country susp. lift(rides like a caddie..at any speed) 33" wild tracs.....i drive to school every Tues. and Thurs. 150 miles round trip. plans are.....crate 350...the 300 hp plant, 14 bolt with 4;56's dana 60 front with same...35" tsl radialsw/some fender trimming, a can back soft top, 12000 lb warn on the front...lots more i'll think of later......i LOVE MY K5!!!!!.......nothing better....Kelboski

oh yeah...the gas station loves me too.......about 10-12 miles to the gallon is ALL i get!...worth every penny to me though....

Mine is a daily driver too. 25 highway miles each way everyday. Needless to say, the guys at the gas station love me! Nothing yet for functional mods, I'm working on it though.

76 k20, 6" lift, 33's, 3.73 open, 14bff/d44, discs on all 4 corners.
It has never left me on the side of the road except for once and itwas the starter (which had been whining for about a month so it's my fault.)
I drive it every day!

Mine is. 1980 GMC Jimmy: 350, TH350, NP205, 10B front, 12B rear, 4" Skyjacker springs all around, 1.5" cast iron Superlift blocks in back, 35" BFG MTs, custom driveshafts, RhinoLined tub, and body work by Mother Nature. It had a Detroit EZ-Locker in the back until it broke at Tellico(gotta love a 2 hr drive on the front axle.) Have new front shackles that I made, 4.56 gears waiting to go in and a Detroit Locker on back order. Also have a long list of "I want..." Check out my site to see it in action.

Drive mine every day to work and cruise around town, 79 blazer 350 .030 over 270 comp cam,edelbrock intake and carb, hedman headers, 4'' pro comp lift 33x12.50x15

Life is grand in K-5 land!

Mine's a daily driver. It's a bone stock 86 Silverado. No Lift, no special performance parts. Still it costs me about $400.00 a month in gas. I drive about 40 miles each day to work and back.

Wouldn't drive anything else. Actually, I've had a S%#T load of vehicles, and my Blazer is the best vehicle I've owned.

Drive back and forth to Colorado School of Mines everyday in my stock '85. Soon as I get some money that worthless 305 is going to the scrapyard to make room for a big ass 454, mabey even a new 502!

Mine is a daily driver. 88 K5, 350, 700R4, 3.73, 6" Superlift, 35x16x15 Boggers. I get about 8-10 miles per gallon. I drive home from school on the weekends about 100 miles round trip.

Have you driven OVER a Ford lately?

i have a 85 k5 silverado
i am 16 and my k5 is my daily car. i work and all my money basically goes into it, and i try to do most work my self. the mods i have done are 2 inch lift 33x12.50 tires new radio, paintjob dual exhaust new dashbord, cb whip antenna 2 kc lights and others. my parents have only paid for the car [2800] and 1/2 the paintjob [maaco job] and the dual exhaust was my bday present.

My 72 is my daily driver. Brand new crate motor with less than 300 miles. Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, hedman headers, flows, SM465 to a NP205. New windshield, painless wiring kit. Much mula into it. Next comes paint, lift, tahoe seats, stereo and rims. Will be bad ass.

Ours is a daily "SITTER" until it's done. Too many other things going to fix her.. plus it's been to damn hot in Texas to work on the Blazer. Ours is a 82 that's gone under soo many modifications.. i'm not sure it'll ever be done. So in the meantime Cheri drive's a 1997 GMC Jimmy 4x4 and I drive my 98 Chevy S-10 Zr2. At least we're a GM Family !!! Hope this counts :)

It's better to have it than to not need it, then to need it and not have it. !!!

Mine is a daily driver. i havent made any mods at all. I leave well enough alone. It has 33's on it.

I took the top 2 months ago and the kids have covered it up and made a fort out of it. Its somewhere in the backyard covered in tarps and old bed sheets! I won't need it for at least 2 more months!

One more daily driver... 26 mi. one way, half highway, half stop&go. 33's, 3.73 gears, 3" bodylift, 305 with 700R4, 109k mi. Checked the gas mileage once. It was a single digit number, so I've never checked it again...

It ain\'t a K-5, but !!

Ok !! So it isn't a K-5, but it's big !! I drive the Burb to work daily and have for the past 3 years.(Except when the tranny(s) went out)It ran 44" Boggers for the first 2 yrs and now has 38" radials and has a 12" lift, 350 TBI, 700R4, NP208C, 4:56.1 gears with Detroit Locker in the 14 bolt FF rear and Detroit Tru Trac Locker in the 3/4 ton 10 bolt front, and many more goodies. I am trying to work a deal out to go back to 44's, hopefully it will work out and I'll be sitting on top of the world again !
