Who's running 4.10's and 33's?

How about trimming the fenders to put the 35s on, it really doesn't take much to get them to fit on a stock suspension :D

Put on the 4" spring lift and stick with the 33s until you save some more money to get the 35s.

It'll look funny for a while but so what.

My dad's "work truck" has a 400ci, th400 with 4:10's and 33's.

Like stated by others it is awsome around town and country roads but it is hell on the freeway.

I am swaping in some 3:73 axles for him this spring.

Blazen, I thought 'bout that. It needs lots of body work at the moment, but the well areas are good. I guess I'd have to pick up some 35's and try to fit them.

I'm pretty sure I won't be happy with 33's on a DD. But they are so much cheaper and theres lot's of lightly used ones locally. I need tires to get it inspected.

So I guess I can go 33 temp fix and 4" 35's later. I hate to waste money on 33's when I know I'm gunna go 35's. Yeah, I'm obsessing it's not even on the road yet. I just don't want a to stick out(draw to much attention) to myself.

How did orig. owners drive thses things with 30's and 4.10?????

thanks again.

hmmm years ago I had 3.73's and 33's on my pickup.... turbo 400 trans... was a good cruizin gear... however I got a smc465, 4.56 geared rolling chassis.... and went with that.... 33's, 4.56's and no od... (not like I had it before)... and never really looked at gas mileage... maybe cuz gas was $0.84 for LEADDED!!! :haha:

loved the low end power and flew up the highways...never had a tach so not sure what I was turning but never cared....

sorry for the rambling post that didnt help

No prob, I enjoy the input.

I don't mind the high rpms. I'm not on the highway all that much. My landcruiser now with 31's is running 2500rpm @ 65. So guess 70mph is wishfull thinking. The best I can figure is that's a good compromise number. But that LC has a I6 and I know V8's power band is different. I guess My brain is wired to lower rpms is better, but I know that's not alway's the case.

Easy... the national speed limit was only 55mph.

About wasting money on the 33s... don't you have ANY tires laying around that you could throw on for inspection? What was on the truck when you got it?

The tires on it won't pass. I pair of like new bfg at 31's and coursair 31's in front. Both are dry rotted and the fronts are bald. They are 8 bolt 16.5 x 9.75 factory rims.
I have a bud that said he's lend me a set of 32 w/rims if needed.
