Who's Using A Super Duty CV Driveshaft??

This may sound stupid, but where do you even find Super Duty shafts? I never see any in the self-serve yards here and never see them being parted on CL. I think I'd have an easier time making one work in my truck than actually finding one.

I see them, but around here we have 2 kinds of yards. One for 10yrs and newer stuff, mainly for insurance and such, and one with everything in it you can imagine.

And Spaceballs is classic, one of the funniest movies ever. My kids dont understand it, but they dont know good movies when they see them.

Anyone successful in their research? According to my brothers work the year splits on the dodge stuff in their interchange system is 03-05, 06-09, 10-12 not sure if this affects any changes in drive shaft setups :dunno:

I have 3 of them sitting in my old parts bin at my folk's place down South. Mine were 1350 and were a direct bolt in for my Tahoe with a 14BSF and a SYE'd NP241 Even the right length, lol!

I wound up getting an aftermarket shaft with a much longer slip though. I easily over extended the SD shafts (also compressed them too much too... Stupid wheel travel, lol)

this got me thinking...... do they make a 32 spline flange like this to fit the front of a 205 ??? :dunno:

I could use some more droop on the front....they may not be 1410's in the CV but I like the idea of this better than what I have now....:waytogo:

.

I got a 32 spline flange that fits a factory CV front Chevy driveshaft. Came off I'm almost positive off a Dodge t-case.

Anybody know what size tubing is on any of the shafts mentioned?

Funny, we were just talking about this today as options for linking/diff swap options in a 2000 Land Cruiser.
Have a look at Quad.

I finally got a chance to sit down and really look at this site, LOTS of good info there. I would like to have seen some concrete info on the axle end joint sizes but I think it's safe to assume that all later model HD trucks (re: Ford & Dodge discussed here) will have 1350 joints.

Thanks for posting the link here! :thumb:

I don't think any stock 1ton uses a 1410 joint in the front. New or old.

You are correct. Sorry for the misinformation, I was confusing the size info used to identify the front joints (1 1/16" vs 1 3/16"), I thought the sizes were 1350 vs 1410 when infact they were 1330 vs 1350.

For the record, 1350 and 1410 use the same dia joint cup, it's just the cross that's larger on the 1410.

I have also edited my earlier post.

Lol, my brother just bought an 86 1 ton crew cab TBI 454 4 speed 4wd. And it has a driveshaft I could use as a stripper pole in a 12ft vaulted ceiling house.

Dodge 205's and Chevy 208's (and passenger drop 241's) all came with 32 spline flanges that fit the GM 3R front CV shaft. Those flanges fit a 32 spline 205 output as well, but they need a special seal, the application is for the front output of a Dodge 205.

Yea the seal tricked me on my flange. I put it all together and luckily caught it before I filled it up with lube. Luckily with my dad running a tranny shop it makes it easy. He has piles of these old parts and seals and I dug one out that fit. Cant remember what it was out of but it does work. But good to know on the 241, now I can go pirate a few from the yard as I have another 205 I want to build for whatever reason.

Ugh... 1480... Is so sweet! I do have plans to do a front 1480 shaft and i have the list of part #'s but I just haven't gotten that far yet.
