why are the HD body lifts so high

I friend of mine at church wants to lift is 1500HD 4x4(tired of the fords and dodges being taller than him). I looked at 4wheelparts and saw that the lift for that truck is $308. Why is it so high and is it any harder than the older style trucks because i've put a few of them on with no problem.

New truck lifts are always more expensive. They have to make up the cost for R&D and all that crap. Either way, it blows, and don't expect it to get cheaper for quite a few years. Body lifts for a 94 Dodge are still $180.

It also includes more brackets and such (bumper, lights, ect)

Not always, sometimes they like to pole you for another $180 for the bumper brackets
