Why is NP 208 weak

I run 208's in all my race trucks, plus the 87.

Never had a problem with (knock on wood) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif them. I run a ZZ502 in my Jimmy and 578 RWHP in the 83 K20. Lots o' torque IMO. Other than the slip yoke leaking, they hold up fine for me. Of course I dont crawl with 'em.

But to give another example, I have (stupidly) done a couple of full throttle launches in the Jimmy in low range. I broke the d-shaft/yoke/ujoint and still have had no problem with the t-case. BTW I did this on 10 bolts with 35's

You can swap the parts over from I think the Dodge or the Ford case for a cheaper SYE kit on a 208.

I have ruined a few 208. I have had the shifter rod inside the case wallow around and ruin the rear half of the case. The cases themselves had a questionable history though.

really ? so if i came across an 89 241 with 32 spline then it would swap right in place of my 208 in 83 with 465 ? what about adapter and outputs ?

Direct bolt in AFAIK.

Well that answers that... Then both the manual and automatic 241's are direct bolt in, cool. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

BTW.. this is stupid but what does AFAIK stand for? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

208s are slip yoke? No one told the to my f-150 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
I have yet to see any realy problems whith my 208, my inline six is making aboiut as much torque a hell of alot lower than most v-8s and i hammer it perty hard (ever try a 4lo neuteral drop /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif). As long as your carefull you should be alright /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Hey, I stopped by your house on Saturday. You were gone so I pee'd in your backyard. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Dodge not Ford
I tried the ford, it doesn't work, the dodge one works because it's the same, passenger side drop.
