widest tire on 8" rim?

looking to get some 39.5x15 tires, but the widest recommended tire size for an 8" wide rim is 12.50.

anybody running wider than 12.50 on the 8's?

if so, any wear issues?

i believe i put 14 wide tires i believe i know it was bigger than 12.5 on 8 rims, dont know how they wore though sold the truck right away.

I don't know if it applies here but on my company work truck I had 33x12.5 mounted on the stock Furd wheels and when I went in to claim a tire defect (clearly defective) they said they wouldn't cover the claim because the tire was wide than the they recmmend be put on the rim. Keep in mind these fockers were happy to put the tire on my wheel when they sold it me the set of four. (Big O tire shop). This may not concern your needs though.

I ran my 42/14R15 IROKS on 15x8's for a while, I liked them just fine. I can't really comment on the road wear aspect though.

i've seen 44x18.5x15's on 8'' rims, run lower psi, so they dont crown

my truck is my daily driver, so road wear is important, thats why i ask.

I had 39.5 x 15's on a set of 9.75" wheels on "somewhat" daily driver with no problems, I also had a set of 16.5" wide swampers on a set of 15x 8's but that was a off road only rig.

i run a 39.5x15 tsl on a 15x8 wheel and they wear fine. i have never lost a bead with that combo.

I am currently running 39/14.5-15's on 15x8's and they look/ride fine. I only have 3-400 miles on them so far but they show no signs of irregular wear. I am only runnin 14-15lbs in them though because I drive it alot and don't want to wear the centers.

i have 40''x17''x15'' tires on a 15x8 wheel,no prob,run all the time,never need a bead lock.2 years been doin this no crazy wear prob.
