Hey all,

I have an Eaton axle in the rear of my '72 C20 Suburban and was wondering if the 14 bolt FF disc brake brackets (like the ones Kert makes) would fit my older Eaton axle? Would it be a bolt-on affair? And use front rotors from a K20? I'm not sure if I have an HO52 or an HO72.

I think they will work,I have an eaton rear in my yard truck because I got it for a hundred bucks with 5:13 gears and a Detriot. The brakes were junk so I put everything from the backing plates out including the bearing hubs from a M1008 14bolt rear on it.I had to put a 1/2" spacer between the backing plate and 4bolt axle flange to make it spaced right.

Long story short is the 4bolt eaton flange matches the 14bolt flange pattern and should work but you may have to adjust the spacer thickness accordingly!

I as well can concur that they are the same brackets and use the same rotors for the eaton. My friend did this to his eaton axle in his 69 2wd a few years ago.

Thanks. It's good to know that it's a direct swap... I really hate drum brakes, and from what I've read replacement drums are impossible to find
