fit in my rig? was just over my buddys helpin him and his dad finish packin the U Haul and it was in his basement and told me to take it, so i did.......will it fit?

The only differences I have found is the height changes . Some are taller than others . The brackets are different for the tall or short radiator . The tall go over the core support or out the top of the engine side and hold the rad , the short go on the engine side of the core support below the core support top and hold the rad . The shrouds correspond to what you got too .

Upper radiator hose changed diameter at some point, can't recall the breakdown for that. It can be worked around, but measure them beforehand to check.

Do you need a new radiator? The one you took might be in worse shape than what you have currently. You cannot inspect a radiator from just inside the cap.. Just a thought..

I put a 4 core from my 79 into my 89. I was changin the 89's waterpump and somehow I put a hole in the radiator, so I took the radiator out of my 79, its got no engine/trans so it won't be goin anywhere, anytime soon.

I had trouble getting the 89 shroud onto the 79 rad. But my bottom part of the shroud had a big crack in it so i just left it off.

the radiator in my truck is fine,as is the 4 core, but i was just wondering if it would be worth the upgrade?

After I installed the new waterpump(stock replacement), new hoses, 4 core radiator, and new thermostat. The runs like 10 or 15 degrees cooler.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is my opinion in this case. Keep the 4 core as a spare and put it in if you need it. I would not mess with something thats working. It just begs for a can of worms to be opened up.

If your current radiator keeps the motor at the T-stat temp, why mess with it?..

Just my opinion.

All depends on your funds situation..
